Although I like the idea of using paid submission services, I deal with these guys cautiously because it gets expensive, and carefully because that's my nature.

Successful Lawsuits in Small Claims Court Courts by individuals without an Attorney
When a big corporation makes a mistake, gets greedy, or behaves arrogantly, it has the power to run roughshod over an individual customer with the advantage of lawyers and money. It follows that a corporation can ignore the promises which it has extended, while leaving poor JOE SIXPACK the victim with few options other than acceptance of his inevitable loss.

However, Small Claims Courts are available in most U.S. states in which an individual can represent himself in court as the Plaintiff without the expense of hiring an attorney. Even in those states with no small claims court (by that specific name), an individual can represent himself in General Sessions Courtrooms in his hometown--so long as he is not acting as an agent of a corporation.
